What were you doing at 4:30 this morning? Max and I were walking down 5th avenue trying to find a Subway station to head down towards the Brooklyn Bridge where we'd catch up with Natasha + Brian just before sunrise. This session, with one of the most photogenic couples I've ever seen, in one of the most iconic locations in the United States, just happened to be wrapped in the most perfect light possible. // "There is something in the New York air that makes sleep useless." Northwest Arkansas Engagement Photos // An entire afternoon with out a plan or even a destination. When Megan told me she was completely open to the process my mind shifted to all of the fun we could have if we weren't focused simply on the photos but instead on the moments during the shoot. The results are gorgeous // "Now, I'm not going to deny that I was aware of your beauty. But the point is, this has nothing to do with your beauty. As I got to know you, I began to realise that beauty was the least of your qualities. I became fascinated by your goodness. I was drawn in by it. I didn't understand what was happening to me. And it was only when I began to feel actual, physical pain every time you left the room that it finally dawned on me: I was in love, for the first time in my life. I knew it was hopeless, but that didn't matter to me. And it's not that I want to have you. All I want is to deserve you. Tell me what to do. Show me how to behave. I'll do anything you say." –Choderlos de Laclos
Northwest Arkansas Wedding Photography // A completely authentic engagement session of two perfectly in love people // “A dream, all a dream, that ends in nothing, and leaves the sleeper where he lay down, but I wish you to know that you inspired it.” —Charles Dickens //
"Even the sun directs our gaze away from itself and to the life illumined by it. " -- Eberhart Arnold // Quite simply one of the most beautiful engagement sessions of the year so far.
"You're the sweetest little secret, yes I mean to the bone, you're my good luck charm and baby I can't leave you alone" The Dirty Guv'nahs // How about some crisp fall air in the Ozarks? That feeling when the leaves wrap themselves around your feet while you walk and the warm air is split by the cool breeze. This was that session - don't miss it.
Better late than never! Catch up on what you missed when I forgot to blog all about my engagement session with Megan + Kyle.
"It was a million tiny little things that, when you added them all up, they meant we were supposed to be together." - Sleepless in Seattle // Guest blogging today from MAX about a session he just finished during a quick wedding trip up to Seattle. Don't miss this story or these photos.
We're celebrating throwback-thursday with a little eye-candy. Sydney + Clinton's wedding is this weekend, but we couldn't wait to start showing them off.
An afternoon with these two was about the most relaxing part of my week. We laughed and wandered around for a few hours and it didn't feel like work for a single second. So grateful to have couples that trust me so much that they can just enjoy time together and not stress about the details.
Courtney + Phillip's engagement session was 100% real. Full of everything we love about our jobs and completely beautiful. We couldn't wait to show off some of the fun.
Rusty + Johanna didn't stop laughing their entire shoot. It was so refreshing having such a light hearted shoot on such a perfectly sunny afternoon.
Our morning session with Heather & Jason was foggy and cold. The perfect weather to snuggle up together.
