Two Architect’s Dream Wedding at Crystal Bridges

Some weddings happen in beautiful spaces, but Hannah and Stone’s wedding at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville was different. Their day felt like it belonged inside the museum. Every moment carried the same intentionality, artistry, and clean design as the architecture surrounding it.

This was the perfect venue for them, because both Hannah and Stone are architects. They graduated from the Fay Jones School of Architecture at the University of Arkansas and now work together at an incredible architecture firm in Kansas City. Their choice of Crystal Bridges was more than just aesthetic. It was personal. It reflected the way they see the world: through thoughtful lines, elevated design, and a belief that beauty should serve a purpose.

That vision is exactly why they hired us. We thrive on working with couples who have refined taste and a deep appreciation for design. Photographing this wedding wasn’t just about documenting a celebration. It was about honoring their perspective and capturing a story in a space that already felt like an extension of who they are.

A Full-Circle Story

Our history with Hannah and Stone runs deep. It began when we photographed Stone’s surprise proposal at Crystal Bridges. From that first day we knew they were special, and it feels surreal that their wedding would bring us back to the very same place.

Since then we’ve shared so many moments together. We photographed Hannah’s sunrise bridal session on the Brooklyn Bridge at 5 a.m., one of the most unforgettable shoots of my career. Soon we’ll share the full story of that day on the blog. Hannah and Stone also modeled for us during a photo and video shoot in New York with our friends at Imagen AI. It was captured in front of a live group of photographers and is featured in this film.

What started as clients has become a true friendship. Hannah has one of the biggest hearts of anyone I know. Her mom Teresa is as kind and generous as they come, and her love for Hannah showed in every detail. Stone balances everything with his steady, thoughtful presence. Together, they are magnetic, and it’s impossible not to root for them.

Wedding Day Details

Getting Ready in Bentonville

The morning began at a Bentonville home where Hannah got ready with her bridesmaids and her mom, Teresa. Boun Vang made sure Hannah looked flawless from the first look until the last dance.

We stayed with Hannah through these early hours, capturing flatlays, bridal details, and the tender moments that unfolded as she stepped into her dress. We didn’t see Stone until arriving at Crystal Bridges, which only heightened the anticipation of the first look.

First Look and Portraits in Walker Landing

The first look took place in Walker Landing, one of the most dramatic and beautiful spots in the museum. Surrounded by water, steel, and light, it was the perfect balance of architectural intention and raw emotion with a little dramatic light.

From there, we explored the museum and its grounds for portraits. With their background in architecture, Hannah and Stone naturally leaned into every space. They didn’t just stand in front of the museum, they belonged in it. Photographing them was like watching two people become part of the very lines and design they admire.

Ceremony in the Great Hall

The ceremony took place in the Great Hall at Crystal Bridges, framed by natural light streaming through the glass. While Lightworks would later transform the space for the reception, the ceremony remained intentionally simple, letting the architecture and natural light do the work.

Hannah’s boss officiated, offering a perspective on their relationship that was equal parts professional admiration and personal warmth. His words felt so unique to them, weaving together their shared passions and the respect they’ve earned in their careers. Looking around the room, you could see architects smiling everywhere, quietly loving the fact that this wedding was happening in such a meaningful space. Sidebar here, for some reason architects evidently love cool glasses and the guest list was a gallery of great statement eyewear.

Cocktail Hour in the Rotunda

Guests flowed into the Rotunda for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres while the Great Hall was flipped for the reception. It’s one of our favorite transitions at Crystal Bridges, where guests can enjoy the art-filled spaces of the museum while anticipation builds for the reveal of the transformed hall.

Reception in the Great Hall

When the doors opened, guests entered to find Hannah and Stone already in the middle of their first dance. It wasn’t just a moment, it was the centerpiece of the entire design. As they danced to Otis Redding’s “These Arms of Mine,” the Great Hall became both stage and story, pulling everyone into the beauty of the room and the intimacy of their connection.

Alchemy and Choice Linens brought in a palette of modern textures, while Meus Floral Studio layered in florals that mirrored the museum’s balance of natural and refined. Finding Jules added candlelight that gave the space a warm, romantic glow.

Dinner and heartfelt speeches followed, leading into one of the sweetest details of the night: dessert. Instead of one large cake, Sweets by Logan created a small display cake for tradition, while a beautiful display of small cakes filled the back corner of the room. Add in extra goodies outside by the bar for anyone with a sweet tooth, and it became a dessert lover’s dream and also the only dinner I had time to eat.

Later, Hannah shared a father-daughter dance to “The Way You Look Tonight,” inviting other fathers and daughters to join.

The Grand Exit

As the evening closed, Lightworks brought in cold sparks for a dramatic exit on the South Lawn. Surrounded by friends, family, and the glow of phone lights, Hannah and Stone walked into the night as husband and wife. It was cinematic, celebratory, and unforgettable.
