Two of the most genuinly beautiful people got married last week. He was her boss at the bagel shop. She is a smart, beautiful, witty girl. He’s an outdoorsy, adventurous, introverted guy. Cooper Chapel and 21C may have been the venues but what made this day special really was the people.

An elegant, intimate, intentional wedding day for two amazing people. This wedding story is absolutely worth the read, but to have a hard time narrowing down a blog to 125 photos for a wedding with only 25 guests is really saying something. This Cooper Chapel wedding in Bella Vista, Arkansas was special for so many reasons.

We woke up so early. We waited for the sun to wake up with us. We wandered and laughed and let these two celebrate their elopement, their marriage, their vows on a little adventure removed from the noise and reality of a world gone crazy. What happened next was everything.

There’s something special about a traditional wedding like this. No fluff, no disco lights, no 90’s hip hop, and nothing diluting the honest joy. Don’t get me wrong, I can’t wait until the next time I can feel a dance floor shake under my feet but these two are just so authentically, beautifully, God breathed that I wandered around all day at this wedding with a smile on my face.

There’s such a good story here. Before the sunrise engagement photography. Before the lakeside love story up in Northwest Arkansas. Before the snuggles and flirting, and beautiful moments these two shared the back story got us here and it’s pretty cool how it’s all come together.

We just went on a little adventure. Two perfectly in love people, just a few weeks before their wedding at a beautiful chapel in Bella Vista showed up before sunrise to just enjoy the crisp morning air and a few quiet moments together. He spent the morning whispering sweet little affirmations in her ear. She laughed and flirted and figured out how to hike in shoes that were not made for it and I, well I just sat with a dumb smile on my face and a camera in my hands enjoying my job, my home, and the beauty of a new day.

Elopement photography of a small wedding at Sassafrass Springs Winery and Vineyard in Fayetteville Arkansas at Sunset with two of the most beautifully intimate people. This wasn’t the wedding they had planned, but as they were flirting and dancing at sunset beside the vineyard you couldn’t tell for a second.

These two had waited long enough. After a deployement in 2019, and a pandemic in 2020 waiting any longer seemed crazy. There’s always going to be a reason to delay forever from starting but on this day, watching this sunset at Sassafrass Springs Winery in Fayetteville, Arkansas Kara + Zac finally got to move on to the next chapter of their lives together.

In the midst of so much. Love matters. When we feel alone. Love Comforts. When we are attacked. Love strengthens. When we feel weak. Love prevails. This Little Rock, Arkansas wedding united two incredible people in a life together. At the tail end of the Covid-19 crisis, and at the very beginning of the George Floyd protests these two said their vows to each other. The world is changing rapidly, I can only hope for the better. And if there is one thing I know we need, it’s love, family, unity, celebration. This wedding story means a lot to me.

I love when we have couples who have incredible stories. These two have gone through a lot planning a wedding during a global pandemic, and this session was supposed to be a little escape from it all. They love experiences maybe more than anything and driving across Arkansas for an Engagement Photography Session with me was supposed to be just another stop along the way of another adventure together. Thing’s changed a bit, but I’ll let you read directly from them about how they turned it into an adventure all it’s own.

Wedding season may be postponed. But engagement season isn’t and after these two drove 10 hours for an engagement session we had to make sure it was special.
